Project Requirement
Owens Road Services is a logistics firm with sites and depots throughout the UK. The company’s existing CCTV system was based on an analogue camera network which offered limited control, recording and playback facilities, along with restrictive fields of view/focus.
The customer turned to Pritchard Security Systems to undertake a series of significant upgrades to the system, in order to improve performance, functionality and ease of use with the goal of ensuring the security of its own fleet and personnel, as well as the goods of such customers as Panasonic, Warburtons, Amazon and Brecon Water.

Pritchard worked with Owens to select an Avigilon HD IP CCTV high-definition camera system – a series of networked digital cameras which are able to link via a single IP address (to save costs and enable easy remote access from head office or other depots). The system is able to focus on multiple locations and distances within its field of view, leading to a requirement for drastically less cameras to cover the same area when compared to the old analogue setup. The system incorporated ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) and face recognition software for the ultimate in evidence-gathering.
Pritchard designed, supplied and installed the system within the agreed budget, even taking on additional works to improve Owens’ IT infrastructure in accordance with the cameras’ specifications, making it the first Welsh company with such a system in place.
